Originally launched as NFTuesday in October 2021, Catalyst was founded by Cody Lee Edison, Mieke Marple, and Andrew McClintok. What began as a local meetup quickly developed into a thriving art community in Los Angeles. Free and open to the public since its inception, Catalyst is where “some of the brightest minds in Web3 meet to greet at a bar called El Cid on iconic Sunset Boulevard,” - Forbes.com. The moniker has changed but the spirit remains the same.

Cody Lee Edison is the curator and director. Curation and co-direction has included Mieke Marple (2021–2022), Tuna Bora (Spring/Summer 2022), and Dina Chang (2023–2024), whose contributions were instrumental to our evolution.

Catalyst continues to be a social engine for digital art and cultivates a vital third space where artists, collectors, and audiences converge.
